Roads are the foundation of safe motoring. Currently European visitors marvel at the high standard of the motorways close to capital cities and comment that they have nothing of that standard in their country. Unfortunately, those roads are like the shopfronts in movie sets. If you travel into rural areas and even in some parts of suburbia roads are of poor standard and are particularly poorly maintained. Funding for roads needs to be treated as a priority. |
