Safety warning triangles save lives says motorists' association

James Wright the Queensland Liaison Officer of the National Motorists Association Australia Inc. today urged the authorities to encourage the use of safety triangles in passenger vehicles. "European safety triangles are life savers.

You can't see hazard lights around blind corners. European safety warning triangles can be seen from 200m by drivers of other vehicles. Spain made 2 warning triangles compulsory for all passenger vehicles last year.

Now the only European Community country where safety triangles are not mandatory is Britain. Even in Britain they are recommended. Australia doesn't even recommend that passenger vehicles include them." Mr Wright said.
